I’m Emily, I’m 26 from West Wales and have been working as a HR Apprentice at Audit Wales for nearly 2 years.

Having already completed a degree in Policing, I wasn’t completely sure if a Business Admin Apprenticeship was really for me. Now almost 2 years later and I am so glad I decided to apply!

Each module I completed allowed me to gain a better understanding of HR in both theory and practice and I have developed skills that I can take with me in any admin role.

There is no ‘typical’ day when working in HR, each day involves new challenges and opportunities to learn from which I am so grateful for. My role covered a vast area of HR including recruitment, learning and development, onboarding, staff paperwork and email queries which I had to juggle as well as studying for my assignments and tests.

My team are always giving me the opportunity to further my development and I was lucky enough to have Shannon and Vic as mentors who supported me during my apprenticeship by offering advice, support and weekly girly catch ups!

My confidence has grown immensely over the past two years, and I can’t thank my team enough. I have definitely made friends for life and looking forward to the future!
